Frequently asked questions

What is the cost of a Kashmir tour?

Group size moves the price more than anything else, because the vehicle and the hotel are shared. A party of twelve pays about ₹8,050 a head on our four-night package; a party of four pays about ₹9,550. Season matters too — March and November are the cheapest months with usable weather, and the Christmas to New Year week is the most expensive.

Is 3 days enough for Kashmir?

Three nights works if you accept one valley. Srinagar plus Gulmarg is comfortable; adding Pahalgam means two long driving days back to back. From Delhi the 85-minute flight makes a three-night trip viable because almost no time is lost travelling. From southern India the sectors are too long to justify it.

Is 7 days enough for Kashmir?

Seven nights is generous and opens up what most itineraries skip — Doodhpathri, Yusmarg, an overnight at Aru, or a trek towards Tarsar. It also builds in slack, which matters in winter when a single snow closure can cost you a day.

Which is better, Srinagar or Jammu?

For a Kashmir valley holiday, Srinagar. It is the valley itself — Dal Lake, the Mughal gardens, and the base for every excursion to Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg. Jammu is the gateway city on the plains and the traditional railhead; most travellers pass through rather than stay. Fly into Srinagar if you can.

Which month has snowfall in Kashmir?

Reliable snow at Gulmarg runs from late December through February, with January the deepest — the traditional Chillai-Kalan period ends on 31 January. November and early December are a gamble. Srinagar itself is cold from December but usually stays snow-free until late in the month.

Can I wear jeans in Kashmir?

Yes. Kashmir is relaxed about what visitors wear and jeans are completely normal. Modest dress is appreciated at religious sites such as Hazratbal and Charar-i-Sharief — covered shoulders and knees, and a scarf for women at shrines. In winter, jeans alone are not enough at Gulmarg; you want thermals underneath and waterproof outer layers.
